Whole Body Vertical Vibration (WBVV) is a form of passive exercise that uses physics and gravity to work your muscles. However, the person exercising does not need to do anything – simply stand on a machine for between 10 -20 minutes, and you can enjoy the effects of a physical workout.
“I don’t have time to go to the gym” “I can’t jog because I have (such and such) issues” “I have pains but cannot afford to go for expensive physiotherapy” “My parent is too old to take such strenuous exercise”
If you’ve ever thought along those lines, you’re not alone. Our world today has made living healthy quite a challenge. You need to not only find time for it, you need to be able to afford it.
On top of that, there is the mental anguish of the physical exercise. Like they say, ‘No pain, No gain’. Even with the pain of pushing your muscles, exercising wrongly also carries the risk of damaging your body. Over-exercising, using the wrong techniques, and doing things your body may not be ready for can actually cause more harm than good.
WOULDN’T IT BE GREAT IF THERE WERE AN EASY SOLUTION TO THESE PROBLEMS?
If only you or your loved one could exercise and build a healthier body without any pain or side-effects. Sounds like a wishful dream. There can’t be anything so wonderful.
Actually, that’s where Vibration Therapy comes in.
Whole Body Vertical Vibration (WBVV) is a form of passive exercise that uses physics and gravity to work your muscles. However, the person exercising does not need to do anything – simply stand on a machine for between 10 -20 minutes, and you can enjoy the effects of a physical workout.
It is imperative to note that WBVV, unlike regular power plates or non medical grade vibration devices, only moves vertically, and operates within a tested and therapeutic range of oscillation frequency, g force acceleration, and the displacement and time taken to travel vertically upwards and downwards are completely equally balanced rhythms. This is what makes it therapeutic, whereas other forms of haphazard, random vibration may cause problems.
How It Works : Painless Exercise
Vibration Therapy is based on the science of gravity, and how it affects our bodies. Many exercises use this same science – jump rope, running, basketball. A Vibration Therapy machine simulates this activity by using mechanical force to push the body against gravity, and then lets gravity take over as the body drops.
As the human body is moved up and down like this at a vibrating frequency, our muscles naturally work to accommodate for it, and over an extended time, they will have worked as hard as any normal exercise.
Unlike traditional exercise, however, WBVV does not pose any risk in terms of landing impact (when you land from a jump, which can damage areas like knees), nor is there a need to physically move, lift or interact with objects that may cause accidents. There is no need to support heavy weights, or to be wary about moving or falling.
Where It Started
It is hard to believe such an effortless way to exercise is real. However, it does, and WBVV has actually been used for years for professional exercise and therapy.
The modern vibration machine was invented by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, who is famous for inventing corn flakes!
Dr Kellogg was a medical doctor, health activist and inventor. One of his inventions was a vibrating chair that was the world’s first vibration therapy machine.
It was many years later that vibration machines were pushed to the forefront of technology.
During the Cold War era, Russian scientists improved and developed vibration therapy machines for their astronauts to train against muscle atrophy.
The zero gravity of space made astronauts lose muscle and bone density. By using vibration training, Russian astronauts could out-stay their American counterparts in space for far longer.
Today, WBVV is the basis for not just strength building exercise, but serves a whole range of purposes across physiotherapy, sports medicine, obesity treatment, and more. It has been proven to:
Increase bone density
Prevent osteoporosis
Enhance joint and muscle movement
Increase balance and coordination
Ease lower back pain
Reduce falls
Improve cardiovascular function
Decrease body fat
Lower blood sugar and prevent diabetes
Stroke patient rehabilitation
Recovery from arthritis and bone operations
Improve chronic fatigue
Improve symptoms of Parkinson’s
Rehabilitate spinal cord injury
Rehabilitate cerebral palsy
Rehabilitate sclerosis
Rehabilitate bedridden patients
Improve chronic constipation
With a controlled use of vibrational frequency to work the muscles, there is truly no effort other than to simply stand on the machine until the prescribed time is over. It is extremely suitable for those suffering from weakness of muscle and bones, the elderly, the obese, or anyone who would like to enjoy getting a healthy body without the difficulty of exercise.
If you or someone you know can benefit from Vibration Therapy, let us know. We can arrange a no-obligation demo and test of our signature WBVV machines. Also you can request for the vast amounts of scientific literature.
